Fall is such a beautiful time of year as the leaves change colors and begin to settle on the ground. During this colorful season, there are plenty of activities that you and your family can do to stay active and get creative! Here are some of our favorite ways to have fun with leaves:
Gather the leaves: Your kiddos can start gathering all the leaves in the yard. They can collect them with a bag or a wagon and then can make a big pile to jump into! As your children stack the leaves, they are helping to clean the yard and develop their gross motor skills.
Discover and investigate: Little adventurers can pick out different types of leaves and with your help, they can determine the name of the trees that the leaves belong to. org has an interactive step-by-step process to help families determine the type of leaves that are falling from the trees! Identifying different types of leaves is an excellent way to keep little minds active. Your kids can also make a fall craft project with their art desk or easel. They can paste the leaves onto a piece of paper and label them.
Build a leafman: Fill white garbage bags up with leaves and you and your little ones can stack the bags on top of one another to create a leafman that resembles a snowman! This activity is a great way to clean up the leaves and celebrate other seasons.
Which activity will you and your family try this fall?
Can you believe that summer vacation is over? Neither can we! Although the summer has flown by, that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. It might be difficult to get your kiddos excited about school, but we have some tips that will make going back enjoyable for the whole family.
Play school at home: To get little ones used to the idea of going to school, grab the art desk or easel and play school! Mom and dad can pretend to be the students while kids act like the teachers. You can even switch roles so everyone gets a turn being a teacher and student. This is a great way to teach your children what teachers do and why learning is important.
Reuniting with friends: Summer can be a time for family vacations, which means that sometimes kids don’t get to see their friends from school during those months. Get your kids enthused about school by reminding them they will get to spend time with their friends during the day.
Building new friendships: Explain to your children why making new friends is important and teach them friendship skills that will help them to bond with others, such as sharing, caring and listening.
Looking forward to the weekend: Reassure your little scholars that the weekends will be merry! Plan family time and schedule play dates with their friends early in the week so they can anticipate all the fun they will have on the weekend during the week.
We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe school year! Do you have any tips for making back to school fun?
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, many kids are trying to figure out what they can do for the special moms in their lives. As toddlers and preschooler begin to understand the concept of Mother’s Day, there are plenty of ways they can make this day wonderful. Here are four ways that kids can make this special date perfect with the use of their toys:
Puppet show: Instead of heading out to a movie or play, your little ones can do the entertaining! Your little actors and actresses can put on a puppet show for all the lovely ladies celebrating Mother’s Day in your home.
Whip up a yummy treat: Put your little chef to the test. If the kids ask what mom wants for her amazing day, suggest a delicious dessert or meal made from one of their play kitchens. Many of our customers have told us their kids like to serve them “coffee” with their play kitchens so you could also ask for a fresh cup of Joe!
Tidy up: Now this might be a far stretch for some kids, but maybe you have been waiting for your kids to clean their room for awhile. If they have a toy box, chest or dresser, entice them to put their toys away and surprise mom with a nice clean room!
Craft a masterpiece: Your mini Picassos can create a magnificent piece of artwork with their art desk or easel. Their work of art will surely deserve a special spot on the fridge or to be placed in a frame showcased for everyone to see.
We hope your little sweethearts make Mother’s Day magical!
